Sra. Carmen Méndez de Caballero, chiricana, egresada del colegio Félix Olivares Contreras; es abogada de profesión y pintora por pasión.
Inició esta aventura del arte formalmente con la maestra Nancy Snellen en un curso de pinceladas; luego un curso de acuarela con el pintor Gustavo Didacio De León: un taller práctico de técnica de acrílico en lienzo con el maestro Chirú.
Está disponible al público todo el mes de junio, esperamos su visita.

Sra. Carmen Méndez de Caballero, is from Chiriquí, she attended colegio Félix Olivares Contreras, in David; she is an attorney and has a passion for painting.
She formally initiated this adventure with the art teacher Nancy Snellen, learning brush strokes; then a course on watercolors with Gustavo Didacio De León; then a practical course in acrylic painting on canvas with maestro Chirú.
It is open to the public until the end of June. We hope you visit.

ROWDY AND RASCAL MEET BRUTUS THE BULLY DOG

This will be a bilingual presentation by the author of the book. This children's picture book gives young children (ages 5-8) a very strong message that bullying is NOT OK! This beautifully illustrated book shows how two adorable Maltese pups deal with the meanest, scariest, full of put -downs, Brutus! Also included are the Six Steps of Conflict Resolution and thoughtful questions to encourage dialogue about bullying between child, teacher or parent. As a special treat, the recipe for TheDouble Dog Inn Doggie Biscuits makes for a fun activity not to mention a yummy treat for our four legged friends!

Este libro de imágenes para niños pequeños (edades 5-8) da un mensaje muy fuerte: la intimidación no es OK! Este libro, bellamente ilustrado, muestra cómo dos adorables cachorros malteses hacen frente a el desagradable, espantoso, lleno de humillaciones, Bruto! También se incluyen seis pasos de resolución de conflictos y como fomentar el diálogo, acerca de la intimidación, entre el niño, maestro o padre. Como un regalo especial, la receta para TheDouble Dog Inn perrito Galletas hace para una actividad divertida, sin mencionar un regalo delicioso para nuestros amigos de cuatro patas!

El viernes 5 y sábado 6 de junio se realizó el cuenta cuentos con: Rowdy y Rascal de Sunny Summer, agradecemos la asistencia de los niños y padres que disfrutaron de la presentación.

On Friday and Saturday, Sunny Summer presented her book to a delighted audience. We are very grateful to her and all the parents and children who attended. Rowdy and Rascal were a joy to the children.

Becas para la Universidad Zamorano / Scholarships for Zamorano University

Biblioteca de Boquete desea agradecer al Ingeniero Humberto Serrud, representante de la Universidad Zamorano aquí en Panamá, a la Lic. Dinora Guerra de Suárez y a la instructora del curso de afianzamiento y Lic. Mabony Sánchez por su apoyo y colaboración con los estudiantes que participan, ellos se preparan para obtener una beca de dicha Universidad. El curso que inició a mediados del mes de abril, cada sábado por la tarde en nuestras instalaciones.

The Biblioteca de Boquete was proud to host a tutoring program for students aspiring to receive a scholarship to the Zamorano University. Engineer Humberto Serrud, represents the university in Panamá, Lic. Dinora Guerra de Suárez and Lic. Mabony Sánchez were the instructors. We thank them for their help and support of this students. It began mid April, each Saturday afternoon, until the test is given and scholarships are awarded.
